Theatre School
Here at Limelight we also have the exciting opportunity to join our Theatre School. Held on a Saturday this fun and exhilarating class combines all areas of Performing Arts on the same day. Students take 45 minute classes in drama/musical theatre, singing and hip hop. Students take all three lessons thereby developing their musicality and performance abilities.
Like Limelight's dance lessons, Theatre School is a fantastic way to learn new skills, meet new friends and develop quickly. The work covered in class will be geared towards a final production that will be performed on stage at a local Theatre. We believe very highly in the quality of Drama taught within the school and encourage all students to be involved in any productions that the Theatre group put on.
Following a 10 week term this class will help to develop your self confidence, communication skills, and team work; all strengths that will be used in every aspect of Performing Arts as well as throughout life. The classes are held in the area of Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot and Chertsey.
This class is available to pupils from 5 years upwards and is an excellent introduction to learning about drama and theatre skills.
Pupils will enjoy improvisation, voice projection, characterization, mime, audition technique, comedy and much more.
Another exciting area of this class is putting movement to songs. After learning a song students will put dance moves and actions to the words enabling the performance to have expression and interest. This is a large part of musical performance and children wishing one day to appear in a West End musical or a pop video will benefit from this fun and vibrant class.
The class will concentrate on improving vocal range, breathing techniques and above all confidence! We realise how much students love to sing, but understand how nervous they can be when performing in front of other people. This class is therefore ideal for gaining confidence and belief in yourself. Audition pieces will also be worked on in class so that those students who are sent for auditions will be prepared.
