Limelight Academy Teachers

Limelight Academy is proud of the excellent training our dedicated teachers provide. We carefully select teachers who we know will provide consistently high standards in a fun, professional and nurturing environment. Our teachers will develop the pupil's technique as well as encourage them to become confident and happy within the class. By receiving excellent training at the outset students will learn a good technique, building a strong foundation that will be developed and enhanced over the years. We believe that by encouraging the natural talent of our pupils in fun yet disciplined classes, with hard work and dedication students can achieve their goals. Whether students progress to a professional career in television or theatre or continue purely for fun, time spent at Limelight will develop invaluable skills.

Victoria Amey, Principal

After completing a three year teacher training / performers course at Laine Theatre Arts College, her career has involved performing professionally both in this country and abroad, television and theatre work, freelance choreography for both corporate entertainment and production companies.

Her dream of owning her own school became reality when together with fellow principal Sarah Collyer they opened Limelight in September 1996.

After recently completing her Licentiate qualification, Victoria is looking forward to taking further exams in her Teaching career and believes that this continued training will benefit all the students at the Academy.

Sarah St. George

Sarah trained at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts, where she graduated successfully with Distinction.

Since then Sarah has performed in the west end, across the U.K, Europe, and America, with a variety of shows such as Boogie Nights, Boogie Nights 2, Simply ballroom, Spirit of the Dance, Dancing Queen, and Royal Variety Performances, all of which she was dance captain. Sarah then turned to choreographing alongside her dancing career extensively for Qdos entertainment with pantomimes and cabaret shows , one of which was cover girls in Las Vegas. Most recently Sarah has choreographed All The Fun Of The Fair, in the west end.

During this time Sarah has managed to be a freelance dance teacher in freestyle, ballet classes, tap modern Irish, Ballroom and Latin, and is now delighted to be part of Limelight Academy.

Josephine Baumber

Josephine trained at the Italia Conti Arts Centre, Guildford graduating in 2009 where she was Head Girl. Josephine completed her ISTD teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern whilst at college. Her training in Musical Theatre has led on to many performance credits that include The Royal Tattoo at Windsor Castle for HRH The Queen, Variety Show Her Majesty's Theatre London, Heroes and Villains Wimbledon Theatre, Legally Blonde, Camberley Theatre and The Brit Awards. Jo now splits her time teaching for Italia Conti and Limelight and assisting directing Shows for Italia Conti.

Tony Aiken

Tony trained at the R.A.D. and Bush Davies where he won the Dancing Times Award for Choreography. Since leaving he has worked in the profession for many years, having danced with Olivia Brial and Opus 1 company who's credits include "Life's Cry", "The Rite of Spring", "Symphonic Variations on Westside Story" and "Theme and Variations" by Paganini. Tony went on to work in commercial theatre as dancer and his dance captain credits include 2 Royal Gala performances, Various television specials, "7 Brides for 7 Brothers", "Nine" and Miss Saigon"

On retirement from performing Tony has worked as a ballet teacher and choreographer for many schools. Tony has just completed his CDE in Imperial Ballet and is delighted to be working at Limelight where he strives to help students realise their potential.

Tony Aiken

Tony Denton

With more than fifteen years experience in dance choreography, Tony has an innovative approach to teaching. Trained by "Reebok City Jam" he has taught many students over the years and helped them to achieve confidence in their dancing. Through his excellent knowledge of music, Tony has enjoyed choreographing numbers for up to two hundred people and has taken many Performance Dance Training workshops. He has performed extensively both in London and abroad and brings this experience to his classes that include Hip Hop, Urban Street dancing lessons and Jazz Fusion.

Jane Nuti

Jane attended Guildford School of Dramatic Art as a child and was chosen to perform for Surrey Youth Arts Theatre Company. She gained a BA Hons in Drama at London University and took a post-graduate in Acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She spent several years performing on the London Fringe both in straight plays and as part of alternative cabaret act, 'Three's Company'.

From there Jane went on to work in television, firstly as a presenter on Arts programmes for Television South, as reporter for 'BBC Good Morning with Anne and Nick' and as a Newsreader for BBC 24. She was lucky enough to travel to many parts of the World as a series producer/director for the BBC and Discovery Channel making over 40 documentaries including 'Great Writers of the Twentieth Century' and 'Puzzles of the Past'. After ten years Jane decided to return to live stage setting up her own theatre Company Ata Productions, giving individuals the opportunity to perform in the West End. After producing twenty different shows performed at many theatres including the London Palladium, Theatre Royal Drury Lane and The Royal Albert Hall Jane decided spend time with the children and work close to home with Limelight.

Jane Nuti

Kim Whiley

Initially trained at Agricultural College, Kim has since worked for a number of companies including The Body Shop, at their main head office in Littlehampton; Quartz (now known as Evertz), a broadcast hardware company and ChangeBEAT, a change management company. Within these companies Kim has held roles which enabled her to increased her knowledge of Information Technology and develop her people skills especially with ChangeBEAT where she was responsible for a large team of Associate Managers.

Since September 2010 Kim has been working part-time in a local pre-school with 2.5 - 5 year olds and is currently working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce.

Kim's role within Limelight is to monitor and review outstanding accounts, maintain and update the Limelight website, organise the Summer Schools, Workshops and Auditions and undertake general administrative tasks such as e-mail distribution as required.

Kim is also Head Chaperone and Back Stage Manager for Limelight's Bi-Annual Shows.
